Screen Acting: Older Teens

Welcome to Screen Acting: Older Teens at Acting Performance Studio—a dynamic and creative outlet designed for students in Years 10-12. Balancing the demands of VCE can be challenging, and this class offers the perfect antidote to high school chaos. Whether you’re aiming to refine your skills or simply express your creativity, this course will provide a supportive environment where you can thrive. It’s also the perfect opportunity to make creative friends outside of the high school bubble.

Exploring Screen Acting Techniques

This Term, Older Teens will work with TV and Film scripts, performing scenes in self-tape audition scenarios. They’ll learn key technical elements like lighting, camera framing, and maintaining the correct eye-line for the camera. Playback monitors will provide real-time feedback, helping students refine their performances and understand what’s required in the self-tape world. This hands-on approach offers the perfect insight into the skills and professionalism needed for successful self-tapes.

Improvisation

Each week begins with fun and energizing improvisation games that provide the perfect refresh after a long day of study. These exercises boost creativity, spontaneity, and collaboration, helping students shake off school stress and dive into their acting work with enthusiasm.

Green Screen Exploration

Older Teens will have the opportunity to explore green screen acting, adding an exciting and imaginative element to their screen performance skills. This experience helps students learn to adapt their acting to different environments and scenarios, making their journey even more dynamic and creative.
